Cat over mother-in-law? Denise Zimba opens up about divorce
Actress and TV presenter Denise Zimba has opened about why her marriage to the father of her children, Jakob Schlichtig, failed.
The divorce and custody battle between media personality Denise Zimba and her estranged husband Jakob Schlichtig has become messier.
According to Sunday World, the How To Ruin Christmas actress has spilt the beans on why she left her husband, whom she shares two daughters with.
DENISE ZIMBA ACCUSES ESTRANGED HUSBAND OF CHEATING
The publication reports that Zimba alleged in court papers filed at the Johannesburg High Court that the businessman was cheating on her.
The former Vuzu Entertainment TV personality further accused her estranged husband of making his cat a priority over support from her mother.
She claimed he did not want to pay for her motherâs flight tickets from South Africa to Germany (where they resided) to help her with the children. However, according to Zimba, when Schlichtigâs cat was sick, he forked out money for the doctor.
âWhat led to my depression, amongst other things except cheating, was that he was not helping me at all with [the] children⊠I requested him to pay for a flight for my mother to come to Germany and help me with children, he also refused, but he took his cat to the doctor and paid 900 euros,â she stated in the affidavit.
âThe second applicant is indeed cheating. I once found him masturbating while texting another female, and (name withheld) was asleep in the room. During the confrontation, I requested his phone as he was shaking. He voiced that he cannot be in a marriage where he cannot touch himself,â she said in the affidavit.
âThe second applicant is emotionally abusing me with words because he does tell me that I am poor and I cannot do anything because I do not have money.â
According to TshisaLIVE, Zimba and Schlichtig got married in April 2022. However, their traditional wedding was in 2020.
The pair reportedly separated in late 2023.
CUSTODY OF THE CHILDREN
In court papers filed by Schlichtig and the Central Authority of the Republic of South Africa (Carsa) in April this year, Zimba was accused of unlawfully removing the children from Munich, Germany â which the businessman referred to as their primary residence.
However, Zimba has deputed his claims, saying they had only relocated to Germany because her mother-in-law was sick.
âWe went to Germany temporarily because the second applicantâs mother was sick. The intentions were always to live permanently in South Africa, hence we bought a house in South Africa. My residence permit ( in Germany) is expiring on the 20th day of August 2024 because we went to Germany temporarily.â
The former Generations:The Legacy actress also accused her estranged husband of being a deadbeat father.
