Brenda Ngxoli: Mzansi saved my life!
AWARD-winning actress Brenda Ngxoli reassures Mzansi that she’s safe and sound.
She received overwhelming support from Mzansi following a trending video that put her in the spotlight, sparking nationwide concern.
Serious safety concerns led to relocation
The 44-year-old actress from the Eastern Cape revealed to Daily Sun she left her family home due to serious safety concerns.
However, she’s since relocated to a secure location with the help of her new management team.
“I’ve moved out, but for my safety. I can’t disclose where I live now. My new management ensured me I have a safe space,” she said.
Gratitude to the public
Brenda expressed deep gratitude for the support she received from the public and acknowledged it played a crucial role in her current well-being.
“I am okay as Plan B. I had to come forward and speak publicly because I was constantly threatened with being exposed to the media.”
She recounted the frightening experience that forced her to leave her home, saying she no longer felt safe.
“There was no way I could have stayed. The day after I posted the video, I found that both front doors had been tampered with. These doors are not easy to break into. Before I left, at night, I had to block the door with furniture because it wouldn’t close properly,” she said.
Clarifying intentions regarding family
Brenda said her video aimed to highlight her challenges, not to harm her mum’s reputation.
“I’m not doing interviews to speak badly about my mum. She raised me as a domestic worker, and I’ll never turn my back on her. But I had to choose my daughter’s life and my well-being, something I’ve neglected for a long time.”
The actress acknowledged the overwhelming kindness of South Africans who stepped in to help.
“South Africa saved my life in a way they’ll never fully understand,” she said.
