AVBOB Long Term Insurance Learnerships 2025 – Application Now Open!

AVBOB Mutual Assurance Society, in partnership with INSETA (Insurance Sector Education and Training Authority), is inviting young South Africans to apply for the Long Term Insurance Learnership Programme for 2025. This opportunity offers unemployed youth the chance to gain both theoretical knowledge and practical work experience in the insurance industry.

The learnership runs for a full year (12 months), during which learners will receive a monthly stipend to support their living expenses. Successful applicants will undergo structured learning that combines classroom-based training and workplace experience within AVBOB’s various operational departments.

The AVBOB Learnership Programme is designed to equip learners with the essential skills and competencies required in the long-term insurance field. This structured programme not only provides an NQF-aligned qualification but also hands-on experience that boosts employability in the competitive job market.

Participants will gain practical insights into the insurance business environment, customer engagement, policy administration, claims processing, and much more. The programme is ideal for those who are passionate about customer service, financial services, and contributing positively to the lives of others through insurance products.

Learners will be expected to perform various tasks, including:

• Supporting administrative and policy processing tasks
• Assisting clients with queries and documentation
• Capturing client data and updating databases
• Learning the fundamentals of long-term insurance
• Participating in training sessions and assessments
• Observing and adhering to company policies and procedures
• Demonstrating initiative in assigned responsibilities

To qualify for the AVBOB Long Term Insurance Learnership 2025, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

• Must have a Grade 12/Matric Certificate
• English and Mathematics / Maths Literacy / Accounting must be among the matric subjects
• Must be aged between 18 and 35 years
• No previous learnerships attended
• Must not be registered with another academic institution or be studying elsewhere
• Excellent communication skills
• Basic computer skills (MS Office, E-mail, and Internet usage) are advantageous
• Ability to work independently and take initiative
• Must be a South African citizen

• No prior work experience is required
• Candidates with a strong desire to learn and develop professionally in the insurance industry will be prioritized
• A proactive attitude and willingness to take part in a structured training environment will enhance the applicant’s suitability
