Position Overview

The Steel Making Department is seeking a dedicated and proactive Administrative Assistant to support the General Manager. This is a key administrative role involving a wide range of duties that ensure seamless office operations and efficient communication across teams.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the General Manager – Steel Making
  • Conduct research to prepare inputs for meetings and correspondence
  • Serve as the communication interface with internal and external stakeholders
  • Independently manage office operations in the Manager’s absence
  • Screen and route phone calls appropriately
  • Maintain and manage the Manager’s diary and schedule
  • Order and control office supplies, stationery, and refreshments
  • Type and format correspondence, memorandums, and official documents
  • Manage and administer the Time and Attendance system
  • Upload relevant data into the AMSA KPI system
  • Act as IM Representative and KPI Systems Administrator
  • Follow up on ongoing issues and ensure resolution
  • Coordinate meetings, events, and internal functions

Minimum Requirements

Educational Qualification:

  • Grade 12 / NCV Level 4 (NQF 4/10)

Experience & Technical Skills:

  • Minimum of 3 years administrative experience, including secretarial functions
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Windows, SAP, Intranet, and Outlook
  • Experience in managing electronic data systems and internal platforms

  • Exceptional planning and execution ability
  • High level of administrative accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proven customer service orientation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across all organizational levels
