What You’ll Be Doing
As a learner in the Dis-Chem Pharmacies Cosmetics Retail Learnership, you’ll be involved in a wide range of essential retail and customer service tasks. Key responsibilities include:
Stock Control
- Ensure all shelf products have not reached their sell-by dates
- Maintain a full range of products on display at all times
- Participate in stock takes as requested
- Keep storerooms neat, organized, and clean
- Report low or out-of-stock items, damaged goods, and expired products
- Facilitate regular stock rotation as per Dis-Chem procedures
- Flatten boxes after unpacking and move them to designated disposal areas
- Restock merchandise to maximize sales
Merchandising
- Maintain high cleanliness standards across the store and in window displays
- Create attractive and informative product displays
- Conduct makeovers, product demonstrations, and spray promotions
- Correctly price and label all products
- Work towards meeting sales targets set by vendors and brand reps
- Follow Dis-Chem’s stock layout and merchandising principles
- Assist in loading and offloading of stock when required
- Report pricing discrepancies promptly
Customer Service
- Deliver friendly and helpful customer service at all times
- Assist customers at the Cosmetics Point of Sale (POS)
- Offer informed product advice without pressuring customers
- Resolve customer queries regarding stock and availability

Requirements:
- Must have Matric / Grade 12
- South African citizen
- MIE – Clear Criminal and Credit Record
- Be willing to work Flexi-hours/retail hours
- Willing and able to work retail hours
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
