All to be revealed on Babes Wodumo’s show
BABES Wodumo back on TV.
The 30-year-old queen of gqom is returning to TV screens with her brand-new reality show, Wena Wodumo, which premiers on Moja Love (DStv channel 157) on Saturday, 29 March at 8.30pm.
Speaking to Daily Sun, the producer of the reality show, Thomas Gumede said Babes hasnât done any interviews or podcasts about her life since her husband, Mampintsha passed away in 2022 because they were keeping everything for her reality show.
âWhat you are going to see is everything that transpired from the day of his passing up until present day, which also encompasses family drama, fights over possessions and fights over Mampintshaâs estate,â he said.
He said viewers will also witness what happens after Babes opens Mampintshaâs phone.
âYou will find out what happens when she finds all the secrets of the closest people in her life and what transpired between them. Itâs also going to showcase what it means to be a single mother trying to pick up the pieces of a broken life, move on and become the sole bread winner for her family,â he said.

Thomas said working with Babes was great.
âBabes is crack. Anything thatâs good on TV we say itâs crack, and Babes is that. Her personality drives the whole thing as soon as we put the camera on her she is entertaining, crazy, spontaneous, fun, dramatic, emotional and all the right ingredients that youâll need for a reality star,â he said.
He reflected on what happened when Mampintsha passed away.
âI phoned Babes and I was crying and she said I must stop crying and come shoot. She said she didnât want to miss the opportunity to showcase her husbandâs story because journalists were there and she didnât want them being the ones benefiting. She said she needed to be the one telling the story from her own perspective,â he said.
Thomas said for him, the reality show is more of a personal story than a producerâs story.
âWhen I arrived the only contribution I could make to Babes was shooting her life because that was what we were doing, that was our livelihood. I promised Mampintsha and Sponge that I will shoot,â he said.
