The 51-year-old football gaffer was born on 20 September 1973 in Meadowlands, South Africa. No doubt, Mzansi was more than convinced he was fit as a fiddle.

CAREER
Arthur Zwane’s age has undoubtedly influenced his career as a player and coach.
FOOTBALL CAREER
Like those before him, Arthur Zwane started playing football at a younger age. He began his youth career with Liverpool in 1981 and left for Jomo Cosmos in 1983.
In 1992, he joined Mahwereleng Real Rovers before making his senior debut. Arthur Zwane made his senior debut with Jomo Cosmos in 1992.
In 1996, he joined Santos, but his stint was short; that same year, he joined Orlando Pirates, the Soweto giants. After a year, Arthur Zwane had his second dance with Cosmos in the top-flight league.
He made over 180 club appearances for Kaizer Chiefs and netted over 40 goals during his stint.
COACHING CAREER
Arthur Zwane joined Kaizer Chiefs as the team’s assistant manager on 27 May 2021. He served the position during the 2020/2021 season.
However, he was later appointed as the team’s caretaker manager. On 26 May 2022, he signed a new team manager contract. He served as Kaizer Chiefs manager until June 2023.
NEW ROLE EXPLAINED
Last month, Kaizer Chiefs Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Junior clarified the new role of the club’s former head coach and legend Arthur Zwane as the senior academy coach.
Arthur Zwane, who has worked for over a decade with the club’s juniors and seniors, is now focused on the progress of the academy and scouting department.
“Coach Authur Zwane’s title is senior academy coach. His task is very important. He works with our DDC, under 19, under 17, under 15 and under 13, to provide a blanket playing philosophy.
“So, his role and time is spent with each of the groups to make sure that we have uniformity and we’re able to continue our progression and pathways for the youth players,” Motaung said.
