Actress Nobuhle Mimi Mahlasela reveals on her battles with depression and suicidal thoughts

Actress Nobuhle Mimi Mahlasela has opened on her battles with depression and suicidal thoughts, which just about led to her taking her own life. Known for her role as Aggie on popular Afrikaans soapie 7de Laan, She got real about her psychological state challenges with fans on social media. “I awakened at some point last week and that i couldn’t take it any more! i used to be overwhelmed with traumatic incidents I encountered and every one the thoughts in my head the last few months. I cried such a lot I couldn’t breathe and that i had a severe headache throughout this episode.

“It was an attack, but this point i used to be not letting it get to me. I picked up the phone called my sister and an in depth friend to allow them to know that I’m not OK, which simple act of calling someone was me fighting!” she explained. She managed to “gather” herself and headed to figure. On the way she saw a truck with a message that everything was getting to be OK. It led her to reflect on battling depression for years. “I’ve been fighting depression and anxiety all my life by ‘managing’ and ‘controlling’ it, by simply blocking traumatic experiences I’ve encountered since i used to be a lass. I attempted suicide twice in my life because I just didn’t want to be here and feel this pain any longer,” she explained.

The star is decided to fight and began therapy this year. “I need to return thereto female child that got hurt and heal her. I’m happy i made a decision to fight this. I’m not an expert but I’m learning and I’m on a journey of healing,” she said, encouraging others to talk about their struggles and obtain help.

 

Nobuhle admitted that it’s tough but she is pleased with herself for not abandoning.
