Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune is about to satisfy with Amakhosi management after the AFCON qualifiers, when a final judgment regarding his future are going to be made. Khune’s contract with Amakhosi is about to expire at the top of the season, with the 33-year-old not guaranteed an area within the starting side. Lebogang Manyama is another key player whose future at Naturena remains uncertain with the club not yet deciding if they’re going to keep him next season. Manyama missed the Soweto Derby against Orlando Pirates on Sunday thanks to suspension while Khune’s leave was extended after he attended his sister’s recent funeral. According to sources on the brink of Chiefs, the long marriage between Amakhosi and Khune is headed for divorce at the top of the season. “The Chiefs management is split whether to stay him or not,” the source told KickOff. “There is concern together with his age and salary if they need to supply him new contract. By the looks of things both parties are headed for divorce.” Khune, who joined Kaizer Chiefs in 2004, has played 320 matches for the Soweto giants altogether competitions.
