Tributes for actors Menzi Ngubane and Noxolo Maqashalala

Tributes have been pouring in on social media for actors Menzi Ngubane and Noxolo Maqashalala.
Veteran actor Menzi Ngubane died following a stroke on Saturday.

He was a household name who first appeared on South African TV screens in 1987 with his breakout role as Cijimpi in Kwakhala Nyonini.

He’s acted in Generations, Isibaya, The Queen, Yizo Yizo, Ashes to Ashes, and Gold Diggers, among others.

Actress and producer Noxolo Maqashalala was found dead at her home in Honeydew, north of Johannesburg on Friday.

She was famously known for her role as Viwe in the SABC 1 drama series Tsha Tsha back in 2003.

Maqashalala had starring roles in Generations, Intersexions, Gauteng Maboneng, Rhythm City, and in Diamond City where she also served as executive producer.

Political leaders and industry peers have been paying tribute to the respected actors who have been remembered for paving the way for others in the arts sector.
